Dragon Box (3D Scan)

This was an exercise in photogrammetry 3D scanning. I scanned the object using the PolyCam mobile app. The negative space under the base was not captured in the scan, so that area and the feet were remodeled in Maya. I used Marmoset Toolbag for high-to-low-poly baking, and did texturing touch-ups in Substance Painter.

(Please note, This was a personal study in exploring 3D scanning techniques. The object that was scanned is one of my belongings. But I did not design the original piece, nor do I own any rights to it.)

High-poly wireframe with base on the left (153.7k triangles), reduced version with remodeled feet on right (18.6k triangles).
